Winter Fourballs - Betterball Matchplay Competition
The two teams can either agree which course to play the competition on or if they cannot reach agreement then the match MUST be played at El Valle (being our original course for membership). The player drawn on the top of each tie is responsible for making contact with their opponents
If a match is drawn then you should carry on to the 1st Tee and continue until one of the players wins a hole, they would then become the winners (sudden death). If the 1st Tee is not available within a short period of time then a re-match must be scheduled within two weeks. (note:- handicaps continue as normal when continuing to the 1st Tee)
Handicaps
The lowest handicap player gives strokes to the other players based on the ¾ of the difference between the two handicaps (including the slope of the course being played).
Completion Dates
All games MUST be completed by the dates shown, please see them as the latest possible rather than a target date. The only games that the committee may allow to go past these dates is re-matches but they MUST be completed within two weeks of the original game. If any player cannot play within these dates through injury or ANY other reason this will result in the game will be awarded to the opposing team. When a game is in play if any player cannot complete the round for ANY reason then the game is awarded to the opposing team.
ANY DISAGREMENTS WILL BE CONDSIDERED BY THE COMPETITION COMMITTEE (Stuart Garland, Martin Ackers, Brian Baker) and their decision will be final.
